A Celebrity Memoir to Shake Washington DC

Many years ago I worked for a PR Agency called Charles Barker - with Nick Herbert, as it happens. One of our clients was the Motion Picture Association of America, run by a guy called Jack Valenti. Valenti is a huge figure in both Hollywood and Washington, and he's writing his memoirs. He will recount his times as a WWII combat pilot over Italy, a witness to the JFK assassination, an aide to LBJ and the longtime chief of the MPAA. In a fax to the Washington Post, he said he'll also write about Vietnam and "what we learned or should have learned about fighting a war half-way around the world in places where a lot of the local gentry didn't want us to be." I suspect there'll be a few people in both LA and DC dreading the appearance of this book.
