The Cost of Jon Snow's Lovely Ties

Some saddo has put in a Freedom of Information request to Channel 4 wanting to know the cost of Jon Snow's ties. MediaGuardian today say that he wears Paul Smith ties. Wrong. They're Duchamp ties and they cost £65 each. I know. I wear them too. I met Jon at a reception a few years ago and he immediately made a beeline for me, saying: "I know where you bought your tie!" For the full range of ties click HERE.

...and some saddo has made it an item he thinks is worth blogging about...

Do FoIs apply to private non-state organisations?

Is C4/ITN not in the private sector?

I wish I had your money Iain, mine usually cost between £20-£30 on ebay.

Channel 4 is publicly owned... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channel_4

DoctorVee is correct, although more to the point Channel Four is listed in Part VI of Schedule 1 to the Freedom of Information Act.

If he buys them himself though it is either not information Channel Four hold or they are exempt from disclosing as it is personal data. If they buy them for him they probably do have to disclose.

DoctorVee should be publicly shot for quoting wikipedia as a source.

Nice ties by the way, but if the Socialist Snow wears them, I would steer clear.

as I have toldu before Iain, they make excellent shirts too.

As for the price, wait for their half yearly sale, when most items are half price
