Well if Guido can cause havoc from France, it's my turn now. Sadly I'm not heading for the Loire Valley: I'm contenting myself with the equally sunny climes of North Norfolk. Nothing like revisiting the scene of the crime is there?! It's my 44th birthday on Saturday so I'm going out to dinner to my favourite restaurant, Jacque, in Cromer with ten friends. On Sunday I'm having thirty or so people round for a good ol' Norfolk tea of crab sandwiches and strawberries - albeit not together.
I've bought a Vodafone 3G Data Card as the house we're staying in has no phone line but so far it hasn't worked very well. As a consequence it may take some time for comments to appear on the blog betwen now and Monday, but don't let that put you off commenting!.
But just because I might be sunning myself on Mundesley beach does not mean I shall forget you, dear readers, oh no. I shall continue to feed your seemingly insatiable desire for more Levy/Prescott stuff, and a good bit more besides.
Just off to get my bucket and spade...

I've got some very fond memories of North Norfolk - Happisburgh, before it got mostly washed away - and the surrounding area.
And I have to admit to having had Norfolk Crabs.

Ian, a tip. Next time tou're in Norfolk try eating at "The New Inn" at Rockland St Mary.

As a one-time (short-term) resident of Mundsley I recall there was an excellent fish and chip shop in the village - great for your supper after the excesses I trust you'll indulge in on Saturday.

According to the 'Hospital', obtaining relief was part of the problem, but maybe we'd best not go further.
Now Folkestone is another very attractive resort. It's quite to hand, so maybe I'll pay it a visit...

well run gastro pub offers really good cuisine @ very realistic prices.
Can I recommend crab fishing of Cromer pier - the lines are cheap - liver's the best bait, but the little blighters are likely to eat most of it before you can land them.
The consolation used to be fresh doughnuts at the entrance of the pier. ( I hope that's still the case ).

Apologies,the recommendation was not in fact mine - I lifted it from a google search and should have made that clear in my earlier comment (which was intended simply to inform Iain), by the use of inverted commas or whatever.
That said, it sounds great and also looks most attractive in the photograph accompanying the recommendation. I shall certainly try to visit this hostelry later in the year and will make myself known to your son.

Happy birthday for tomorrow Iain! Give my regards to the beaches of North Norfolk...having grandparents in Norwich I spent many happy times there when I was smaller. I remember with glee the time my younger brother was "bombed" by seagulls at Cromer...
