There Once was a Politician From Crewe

I'd love to know who's responsible for THIS April Fool. The trouble is, good April Fools have to be at leastg a little believeable. But me as a poet? Come on...

Hmmm...they could at least have mocked up a site, in a Chipen Dale stylee, but with art works...

Mind you, I can think of worse people who have been on the Arts Council..

It says much about them that their suggested first line of a Dale limerick doesn't even scan properly for the form.

Prats!

I'm sorry that you are not going to have influence in the Tate Modern Iain -perhaps you might have ensured that if it is to display videos, portraits etc of nudes then they are -well how can I put it -one doesn't expect Michaelangelo's 'David' but some attempt to show the human figure at its most appealing. The last time I went, which was admittedly some time ago, some American gentleman and I had mild hysterics and agreed that old as we might be we had better displays at home!

You did a terrific ode

" Bye Bye Pro American Guy ,
Had a bevy with Lord Levy when the coffers were dry..etc.

This sentence gives the game away a bit though...
UK’s political firebrand, Iain Dale.

Firebrand ?

What ever happened to that Chippen Dale fellow anyway? He was most entertaining: perhaps you could talk him into running for Mayor.
