Harriet Harman: Politician of the Year LOL

It's 11 years since I left the world of political lobbying, and I wouldn't be telling the truth if I said I had missed it. Times have certainly changed in the lobbying world and this is illustrated by Dod's who are organising the 2007 Public Affairs awards. Flicking through the nominations, I see Andrew Pierce, Gaby Hinsliff and Jon Sopel have been shortlisted for political journalist of the year, while Hilary Benn, George Osborne and Harriet Harman are up for politician of the year. And there was me thinking that lobbyists had their fingers on the Westminster pulse. Why on earth would Harriet Harman figure in such a list?

To make sure George Osborne won ?

George Osborne politician of the year??

Why exactly?

As someone else said, 'If Harriet Harmans the answer it must be a bloody stupid question'.

Astonishing that someone so patently dim and two dimensional could be prominent in a political party. Makes Pat(ronising) and Tessa many mortgages appear heavy weight.

Altho nothing or no-one can do that for the duracel chipmunk....

Because she's a woman...

Seriously. I think that's the only reason why Harman herself thinks she's entitled to anything.

Because he has shown that the emperor does not wear any clothes?

Neither Harman or Boy George deserve a place on that list.

Hmm..but if you were a lobbyist you might want to push someone vacuous and dim, rather than, say, someone very independently minded like Edward 'Terrier' Leigh.

Mind you, political lobbyists occupy the same cess pool as 'public relations' propagandists in my book.

harriet harman wrote to me to ask me to support her.Slight problem, I am leader of the conservative group on the crewe and nantwich borough council! She failed to check that we took over the running of the council in May 2006.I wish Harriet well in her bid to be deputy chairman of the labour party.

perhaps, but where there's muck, there's brass. And where better to find muck?

Well at least it wasn't Margaret Hodge...

As for journo of the year, surprised no nomination for Francis Elliott for revealing Mr Cameron's schoolboy habits.

Iain, she's so clearly put the case forwsrd for why the Deputy Leader of the Labour Party should be a woman that surely it would only be old-fashioned patriarchy that would deny her of the title!

Enver Hodge, former Minister for Child Abuse, a contender for deputy? You must be joking.

As for Harriet Harridan, just don't get me started...

Auntie Flo'

Which particular bodies? You only have to lift a stone, and you will find one.

No association with this Auntie Flo, I trust? Because - I am man enough to admit it - I am squeamish.
