An Interview with John McDonnell

I'm always on the side of the underdog, so I thought I'd alert you to THIS half hour interview Peter Tatchell recorded with Labour leadership contender John McDonnell last Friday for 18 Doughty Street. Or see below for a bite sized excerpt where he explains how his left-wing leadership campaign differs to Gordon Brown's. Will it appeal to the electorate and more importantly, his fellow MPs?

Note to left wing bloggers: if you want to embed the short clip into your blog click HERE for details.

There was only one problem with John McDonnell’s performance on the 18DS sofa. It was completely humourless.

Laurence is right. JMcD was pretty serious and a little whiney at times. If there is a contest he will have to buy one of Iain's books of after dinner funnies or perhaps better get Dennis Skinner to write his speeches.

John was the straight man to Ken's gagster at the GLC rather as Brown was to Blair.

It's all to play for. Two horse race and all that.

Did Peter Tatchell as McDonnell what his views were on the glorification of terrorism bill the government tried t pass a while ago? My guess is that he isn't keen on it.

If he gets elected we can look forward to the stock market going into a nosedive. Will probably happen under Gordon eventually anyway but this Old Labourite will cause even more damage.
