Quote of Day: Evening Edition

"It's not been a good week for the Tories."

Hattip: How Did We Come to This

Maybe Recess Monkey thinks that the smear operation is a success:

If you think about it the press has had alot of articles building up Sarah Brown starting to Twitter, the hiring of clothes, sarah Brown being part of the Brown campaign at the next election etc.

What “better” for such a campaign than to smear the wives of your opponents! Brown is in this upto his neck! He is the mastermind as his wife is being wheeled out as an electoral prop, meanwhile the substitutes are being smeared by a pack of lies.

Well what do you expect from an animal known for throwing its own excrement?

Mind you - I could be talking about Derek Draper there. hahahahahahaha.

Darling Recess Monkey........... where art thou?

I agree with the monkey. It hasn't been just a good week for the "Tories" (a misnomer there, but who's counting?) — it has been a wonderful week!

Just had a thought about Draper'sexcuses and reaised who he reminds me of. It's David Brent.

And appropriately for Damian the word verification I have to use now is "fugglyr".

John beat me to it. It's not been a good week, it's been beyond belief brilliant! Although as I wrote on NewsJunction.co.uk some people semi-believe the lies, I think largely because public opinion of politicians is so low, so maybe this will cause harm?

Iain, are we going to have any comment on your apology from Dolly?

From over at DraperList:

On the specifics of Iain Dale I do think he should have condemned Carol Thatcher when she used the term Golliwog but I have never said he was a racist. From what I know – and hear of him – I don´t believe him to be prejudiced at all, and actually a rather decent guy, just wrong about that particular issue. If I ever suggested other than that I apologise to him too.

Any comment on that?

Mr Fawkes has done his worst over at The Telegraph. He is not at all impressed at their tactics.

Oh dear.

Has it been great for the Tories though? Yes, it's great for the UK that a source of poison has been removed. But that's not the same as being great for the Tories alas. I doubt they'll be much long term movement in the opinion polls in this. Worse, Brown has no had imposed upon him, at least half the reform to his media operation that he tried to implement with the recuitment of Carter. Whilst this leaves a short term hole in his team, Brown has an opportunity to start afresh. It also looks less likely now that the election will be a rerun of Crewe & Nantwich. Good for Labour but bad for the Tories.

Things have gone far enough that this corrupt Labour government is happy to use public funded civil servants to aid their party and government in using Nazi and Stalinist like disinformation tactics to discredit the opposition. Labour thought it could hide this abuse under a ripe cowpat and pass it off as a bit of a giggle but Labour’s true vile nature is coming to light.
Never have I enjoyed a day so much with the thoughts of Labour suffering so badly, doing all they can to spin (failing) their way out of the sleaze they have made.
I cannot wait for the Parliament to reconvene so I can see Brown going slack jawed when put under pressure at the dispatch box. Oh happy days.
Ian, keep up the good work and send my best to Guido, who I believe is a pal of yours and tell him he has made me very happy for the intense discomfort of Labour. It is far better than any Easter egg.

Come on Mr Dale - find someone decent to publish your articles. We've all given up on the Telegraph:

Moorlandhunter is absolutely spot on.

I followed PLATO's link to the Telegraph and Guido's comment there. It is truly disgraceful.

The Telegraph deserves to die! I am sorry iain, I realise you write for it, but I have bought the paper for more years than I care to recall. I have written to the editor demanding an explanation to Guido's comment!

I doubt that I shall get a reply.

A sleazy group of political muck-rakers are caught red-handed in possession of weapons of mass defamation.

Further evidence exposes a pre-planned anonymously registered website for their detonation by a "clean skin" trade union loyalist on a date in the run-up to the General Election.

Mr Big, who can't be named for his own security reasons, has fingered "spinner" McBride to take the rap on the promise of early parole, reinstatement under a different title, at an increased salary package.

Meanwhile the potential victims have to be satisfied with a facile apology from junior gang member Draper and pretend it was all a joke.

Classic understatement: it's been a *great* week.
