Election Snippets

* Prescott slams the Labour campaign.
* LabourList calls for Brown to quit.
* Tories doing better than expected in Labour held Staffordshire
* Tories have won St George East, Bristol, from Labour, with a swing of more than 9 per cent.
* Indications are that Labour has lost all ten wards it holds in Bristol.
* Conservatives gain all six seats in Tamworth and now need 5 more seats to control Staffordshire County Council.

I'd better go to bed. Have to be up at 5.30am to do Sky News Sunrise at 6am, then drive down to Arundel for the live PlayRadioUK election coverage starting at 9am. I hope you will be joining us.

Labour won Drumchapel & Anniesland in Glasgow North West. Their share of the vote was down 12% though, and this is probably their strongest are in the West End of Glasgow.

Re: the Bristol result.

I had the misfortune to live in Bristol for fifteen years. It is a paradigm of wet Labour nuttiness. The City that brought you Dim Prawnarolo has had, in recent times, an influx of 25,000 Somalis, almost all of them failed asylum seekers.

It probably has the largest concentration of animal rights activists - a baby was injured by an animal rights car bomb in two roads away from where I lived.

The Avon and Somerset Police banned White Males from recruitment shorlists and the Council consulted Stonewall when foliage was being removed from the Downs in case it interfered with the "rights" of Gay cruisers.

Bristol Labour Councillors are drafted in from Care in the Community; most of them have never had a proper job in their lives, and local services are hidebound by political correctness.

If the voters have finally woken up and smelled the spongers and leechers, then it's a very welcome result.
